Distant
BLISS

Inspired by the RM 52-05 Tourbillon Pharrell Williams Sapphire timepiece, Distant Bliss is a sculpture that celebrates risk takers.

Our space explorer has dared to let go of everything he knows and finds himself in a world where nothing is as he expects it to be. Gravity no longer makes sense in this new place, making him wonder what other fundamental parts of life could work in ways he never imagined. The sculpture depicts the transformative moment of leaving behind everything he thought to be true to uncover new dimensions of life itself.

Richard Mille is the most innovative watchmaker in the world, and with Pharrell he has created an iconic timepiece that challenges our pre-conceived ideas of what a watch can be. In honor of this pioneering Swiss brand, Distant Bliss is about what it means to subvert the world’s expectations by taking a leap towards the unknown.

MADE IN
Los Angeles

Every part of the sculpture is handmade in our Los Angeles studio with our signature sharp lines, smooth curves, and extreme attention to detail.

As we developed the piece, it was important for us to capture the spirit of the brand in unexpected ways. Richard Mille watches are so intricate that you expect them to be heavy, but they are featherlight on your wrist, and we’ve encapsulated this effect by contrasting the heaviness of the balloons with an astronaut who is about to float away.

The transparency of the balloons is a nod to the sapphire of the watch, and as Richard Mille collectors will also note, the astronaut’s backpack is in the signature Richard Mille tonneau-shaped case and displays the edition number. A bottom-lit, futuristic display receptacle designed and made by Ault Studio in Paris gives collectors the opportunity to showcase the sculpture in any space.

Limited to 15 pieces, Distant Bliss is exclusively for owners of the RM 52-05 Tourbillon Pharrell Williams Sapphire.
