DOESN’T MEAN IT’S OVER

As coarse approaches its 20th year, we have been reflecting on where the the vinyl sculpture movement started and where we can still take it. For us, it has always been about turning something that seems simplistic—a childhood toy—into a complex art form that tells personal stories and explores the ideas that keep us up at night.

After nearly a year of designing, engineering, and sculpting in our LA studio, we are thrilled to present Years Adrift – Catch Me When I Fall, a 40’’ tall [100 cm] mobile like the ones we had in our rooms when we were small.

This piece tells the story of two people who can no longer be together. In their parallel solitude they spiral toward a life without each other, realizing a moment too late how how deeply they regret saying goodbye. As their fingers nearly touch, each dreams of the other, wondering if there is still time to be saved from the loneliness that awaits them down below.

Catch Me When I Fall is the second chapter in our Years Adrift story and comes in two unique editions. Memento finds the color draining out of the man and woman at each level of their descent, and Pain presents the pair in monochrome and with classic coarse blood drips, scarred by the hardships they have already endured.

Each order contains six vinyl sculptures (3 her / 3 him) that are 10’’ - 12’’ [25 - 30 cm] in length. A powder-coated metal hanging construction and adjustable ceiling mount are included so you can display this yearning pair and cast their shadows on your walls.

There is always time to land as if we never fell at all.
